The first clothes designed by Emilio Pucci were clothes for Reed College Skiing Team. His designs came to wider attention in 1947. Ski-wear that he had designed for a female friend was photographed by Harper's Bazar. The editor to the magazine then asked Pucci to design a winter fashion line for the 1948 issue of Bazar. This was the start of something great. His designs and material used for his fashion was admired by all.

They hired Karl Lagerfeld to be the designer for Fendi. Under the hands of Karl, the "double F" that is the symbol of the brand Fendi was born.
