Fendi began in 1925 as a small handbag and fur shop in Via del Plebiscito by a married couple named Edoardo and Adele Fendi. By 1946, the couple had five daughters that started working for the shop. They hired Karl Lagerfeld to be the designer for Fendi. Under the hands of Karl, the "double F" that is the symbol of the brand Fendi was born.
